Our Approach

Four things we get right, from the first prenatal visit to the last postpartum check-in

01

Enrollment

We get birth, postpartum and full-spectrum doulas enrolled with state Medicaid, the managed care plans in your area and commercial insurers — so expecting families can use the coverage they already have to hire you.

02

Claims

Prenatal visits, labor and delivery support and postpartum visits each go out correctly coded and on time. Our transparent workflow lets you track every claim in real time, not just in a monthly statement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Doula Billing will have an exclusive agreement with the Tax ID or Social Security number you sign up with. This means you are still allowed to bill through other companies — a collective or agency you attend births for, for example — using their Tax ID.

Yes. A growing number of state Medicaid programs now cover doula care, and most of them deliver it through managed care plans. We handle your enrollment with the state and each plan, then bill your prenatal, labor and postpartum visits under that state's rules.

Yes. You can complete some or all of your credentialing through a different avenue and still use our company for billing services. We are happy to help facilitate that process.

Often, yes — but it depends on the payer and the state. Some Medicaid programs require state doula certification or registry enrollment, while others accept recognized training organizations. Tell us your credentials and where you practice, and we'll map out exactly what you need.

There is no monthly retainer and no required recurring charge. Claims management is billed as a percentage of what we actually collect for you, so a quiet month between due dates costs you nothing. A few optional services are billed monthly, but only if you choose them. See the full fee schedule.
