Get enrolled where families are covered
We manage state Medicaid enrollment and applications with the managed care plans and commercial insurers in your area, and keep your listing current so families can find a covered doula.
Everything you need to accept Medicaid and insurance confidently — and keep your focus on the families you support.
We are a full-service billing partner for doulas. You hold space for the family; we handle everything that happens after the visit is logged.

Electronic submission with a transparent workflow, so you can see where every prenatal, birth and postpartum claim stands in real time instead of waiting for a monthly statement.
Coding review, reconsiderations, first and second level appeals and records submission — so a birth you attended at 3 a.m. doesn't go unpaid over a paperwork error.
Visit limits, covered services, rates, certification and recommendation requirements differ from state to state and plan to plan. We keep up with them so your claims match.
We verify each family's coverage before you take them on, and flag coverage changes during pregnancy — so you know you'll be paid before you're on call.
Prenatal visits, the birth itself and postpartum visits unfold over months. We track each client's episode of care so nothing is billed early, late, or twice.
Billing for a whole roster of doulas? We handle group enrollment, add new doulas to your contracts, and keep every doula's claims straight under your organization.
Copays, coinsurance and deductible balances are followed up on our side, so you never have to talk money with a family in the middle of their birth or postpartum weeks.
Our compensation is a percentage of what we collect for you — and that percentage drops as your volume grows. No retainer, and no bill for a quiet month between due dates.

Prep for Success
While you're waiting to get started at Doula Billing, you can prepare by getting an NPI, registering with CAQH and gathering your doula credentials.
Go to NPPES to create an account and apply for your National Provider Identifier, choosing the Doula taxonomy (374J00000X).
Go to CAQH ProView and read through the "First Time Here?" section to register. Many commercial plans pull your details from it.
Have your doula training or certification, CPR certificate, liability insurance and any state doula registry details on hand.
Share your NPI, Tax ID, the state you practice in and the plans your clients carry. We take it from there.
Tell us where you practice and we'll outline your enrollment path from here.
